Why I drive 3 hours to buy Karoo lamb

I live in Graaff-Reinet and Johan's farm is 40 minutes away. But even if it were 3 hours, I'd still go. Supermarket lamb at R180/kg doesn't compare to proper Karoo lamb at R100/kg whole. The flavour from the veld herbs is something you can't fake. I buy a whole lamb every 2 months and it fills our chest freezer. For families — this is the way to eat well and save money.
